Is Invisalign® Right For You?

invisalign methuen maAre you an adult with slightly crooked teeth or misaligned bite? Perhaps you already had traditional braces as a teenager, and you’re not looking forward to another embarrassing round as an adult. We’re pleased to tell you that we offer another solution. Consider Invisalign® to achieve the beautiful, straight teeth you want.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

Invisalign® can be used in mild to moderate cases of crooked teeth and misaligned bites. More severe cases may still require traditional braces. But especially in cases when the teeth have only slightly shifted since the original set of braces, Invisalign® could be the non-invasive solution that you’ve been looking for.

The timeline is largely the same as with braces. After you’ve been fitted for your first set of Invisalign® trays, checkups are scheduled every two to three weeks to replace the old trays with new trays that are increasingly more aligned. And the entire process lasts approximately 6 to 18 months depending on the teeth.

Why Choose Invisalign®?

Invisalign® trays are practically unnoticeable. The trays are made of clear plastic. And once you’ve become comfortable talking with the trays on your teeth, even your family and friends may not realize that you’re wearing them.

Invisalign® trays are less irritating. Do you remember layering wax atop sharp metal brackets that poked the inside of your cheek? Choosing Invisalign® means that your teeth straitening experience will be far more comfortable.

Invisalign® trays can be removed to eat. You can maintain your healthy diet. You’ll be able to chew normally by taking out your trays. A whole apple will never taste so good! (Keep in mind that Invisalign® trays should be worn at least 22 hours per day.)

Invisalign® trays can be removed to brush and floss. It’s tough to know whether your oral hygiene efforts are completely effective with traditional braces. But with the ability to take out the trays, you can brush and floss like normal. Patients who use Invisalign® have less tooth decay than patients with braces.

You may have a good idea of whether Invisalign® will meet your teeth straightening needs based on the severity of your crooked teeth or misaligned bite. Just to be sure, meet with your dentist to start the process.
