We want to make sure that we do everything we can to keep your teeth healthy and looking great. But there’s only so much we can do on our own. That’s where YOU come in!

Be sure that you maintain good dental hygiene habits for your family at home. It’s the best way to avoid problems in the future. Plus, your teeth will become whiter and brighter. And who would we be without offering some helpful tips for home dental care?!

Brush your teeth twice a day.

We know you’ve heard this tip before. It’s the base of dental health care. Brushing your teeth once in the morning and once at night is the absolute best way to maintain healthy teeth, even more so than visiting your dentist. What you do every day matters!

Buy a new toothbrush every few months.

A toothbrush is only effective for three months or so. Toss your old toothbrush and replace it with a new one four times a year for optimal tooth brushing.

Floss once a day.

Plaque tends to build up between your teeth. To completely clean them, you need to remove all of the debris by flossing. While thoroughly flossing is a tough habit to get into, it’ll be well worth it. Your teeth will thank you!

Use mouth wash once in a while.

Complete the teeth cleaning trifecta by swishing some mouth wash on occasion. It’ll eliminate any remaining bacteria and leave you with fresh breath.

Eat healthy foods.

Lean protein, dairy, and nuts are great for your teeth! Keep them strong by incorporating these foods into your diet.

Avoid sugary foods.

This one is obvious! When sugar coats your teeth, cavities are more likely to develop. Hard candy and soda are frequent culprits, as they allow sugar to linger on your teeth.

Quit smoking (or never start)!

Smoking is detrimental to your health. In reference to your dental health, smoking causes oral cancer and stains your teeth.

Visit your dentist twice a year.

Your dentist’s purpose is to take care of your teeth. He or she wants to keep them clean and help you prevent dental issues, big and small.

If you need to see a dentist, give us a call! We love new patients =)
